Please help render neon

Discussion in 'AutoCAD' started by Carlos Gonzales, Nov 3, 2004.

  1. I've done a fair amount of 3D stuff but tonight I have to render some neon
in the shape of a 5 pointed star, except it doesn't cross itself anywhere.
    (Actually, 1 inside another, concentric.)
Is there an EASY way do do pipe or tubing type stuff?
I can't seem to find a solid command and I was experimenting with
combinations of ruled surface and revolved surface, both from circles that
I rotated first 90° off the horizontal axis then rotated according to the
bend, etc. But that seems klunky to me.
    Any suggestions most welcome!
    Thanks

Sure is but not in AutoCAD.

I suggest you post your question in the Accurender news group (go to
mcneel.com and look for the ar3 new group). Accurender works as a rendering
add-in to AutoCAD so virtually all the modeling issues being discussed there
revolve around AutoCAD's 3D capabilities. I'm sure someone there can give
    you a hint.
