Plane creation with axes

  1. HELP!!!! Am I missing something, or is Solidworks lacking in this area

I have a cylindrical part with a center hole, and another hole on the
"rim" and I would like to create a plane that passes thru the center
hole and the offset hole. I would have thought selecting both axes
would have allowed that, since it would define a unique plane, but that
will not work. Then I created a point on one of the axes, and attempted
to select the point, and the other axis, with the same result.

    What am I missing?

Thanks for any help you can provide

you're missing the fact that two lines do not necessarily define a plane--SW
    is doing it correctly
select one of the lines and the end or mid point of the other to get what
    you want

Next best thing: use axis and point. If the hole feature has a sketch,
make the sketch visible and select a sketch point and the cylinder axis.
