    Hi all,

Is there a way to make an object actually render white without setting
material type to constant and color to white? Whenever I get the
lighting looking nice everything I need to be white is more like 50%
gray.... The constant thing is too constant ie no lighting information
    is represented.

    TIA

What about having everything that reflects on it be white. Even if
hidden make walls white and make them reflective. Just a guess.

  3. Is the 'diffuse' for the material set all the way up? I think of diffuse as
(sort of) representing how much of the pure color of the material will
render. For instance, red will look muddy unless the diffuse is pretty
high, and it is hard to get a bright fire-engine red without tons of lights
unless you have the diffuse jacked all the way up.

That said, diffuse reacts to how much diffuse light is in the scene. If you
render with indirect illumination, you can throw out the previous advice -
the white will get blown out in areas that should start to show shade unless
    you move the diffuse DOWN.

    My rule -
Indirect illumination, use a diffuse of about .75 (and this is fungible
    depending on the specific material)
Just lights without indirect or global illumination, set the diffuse to
    1.0 - if I want a muddier color, I change the color.
