I have been using Photoworks recently to prepare presentation material for
clients. The problem is that whilst the rendering is going on I can't carry
    on with design work.

Is there a way to transfer the rendering to a second machine so that I can
carry on design work in Solidworks?

    Regards

Same problem here. I have been toying with the idea of using POVray. Or you
could install SW on the second machine (hopefully dual processor) and use a
KVM switch to switch between them.

  3. I have overcome this by changing the process priority to low. That way you
can open a second session of SW and run full speed and the First session
only takes up the left over processor speed. I know that it says this can
cause undesired results but I have done this many times with no problem,
actually the only time I have noticed undesired results is if you up the
    process priority above normal.

  4. PhotoWorks does have a pack & Go feature for just that purpose
