Photoworks loosing level of Floor

Discussion in 'SolidWorks' started by Corey Scheich, May 20, 2004.

  1. I don't get it I set the level of the floor to -3.75" and hit apply and OK.
Then render. Looks correct. Then I hit animator record Photoworks 15fps
and after waiting 30 min for it to render the video find out that the darn
floor height went back to 13.68 and looks like crap and try again. Anyone
run into this or have any suggestions.

  2. Did you uncheck "resize automatically"?

  3. Nope that was it. That seems like a silly option, I guess it would be good
for a growing model or for the first render but anyway, Thanks.

  4. Yes I have seen this and reported it to SW many times. I don't have a
work around. I reset the floor and try again. You would think the
    default setting would be 0??

You may find this difficult to believe, but there are actual
user-interface bugs in PWX! For some reason, a floor offset of 0 does
not correspond to the lowest extents of the model. Since floor
shifting happens at random, I either model the floor or I put the
proper floor offset in the comments section of the document properties
so that it is easy to recall. I find the same problems with decals
and custom materials. When they are initially created everything
works fine, but after closing and reopening PWX cannot find the files
and you have to manually browse to them.
