I often work with parts files containing multiple solid bodies and
surface bodies. Is there a way to name them, on creation, that will persist
through adding features to, and modification of those bodies? As I work
now, I name the body something meaningful, but any subsequent modification
auto-renames the body to something less than meaningful ( IE "Fillet6" ).

Even a persistant prefix would be most helpful, so that if I named a
part... say "base mold body". Adding a fillet would only change the name to
"base mold body-Fillet6" or something similar.

Right, that's the way it works. This would be a good time to submit an
enhancement request. This is one of my least favorite features in the
    software.

What I do when working on a complex multi body part is name all the
features with the prefix. So for a part I had with two bodies of a
housing I was working on, I added the prefix "Top" and "Bottom" to all
features relevent to which body they affected. Then you could easily
tell in the bodies folder which was which. Also made editing and
finding features in the tree easier.
