Does anyone know where I can find a free PDF Writer so that I can plot
    PDF files?

Google it. You should find at least half a dozen.

This is perhaps the third most often asked question on these and other
AutoCAD newsgroups. If you were to search the message base you would
doubtless find many answers as well.

(Maybe o.t.) ViewCompanion Standard is not free, but you can view standard
ie. HP/GL-2 plots for checkouts before printing and 'save as' the plot as
PDF for 49 USD. (And other formats, too: Adobe Postscriptâ„¢, Adobe PDF,
AutoDesk DWF, AutoDesk DXF, CALS Group 4 Raster, Computer Graphics
Metafile, Gerber RS-274X, HP-RTL Raster, JPEG Raster, Paintbrush PCX (PCX),
Portable Network Graphics (PNG), Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG), TIFF
Raster, Windows Bitmap (BMP), Windows Enhanced Metafile (EMF), Windows
    Metafile (WMF)).

The best part of this is that you do not have to hassle with exotic PDF
printer pen setups, paper size margins and page orientations, just save the
plot as PDF and it's WYSIWYD (D is for tahat you Deserve).
