I am using AutoCad 2005 and Adobe Acrobat 6.0.

I think I need to reload my Adobe PDF printer driver. Is is available for download from the autodesk website? Please tell me where I can find it. Why you ask?
    WELL,
I am printing a layout 24x36 sheet to PDF. When I print preview the drawing, it looks complete. However, when it is printed and viewed in Adobe, the left side of the sheet is blank and only the right half printed. Any ideas?

I should also mention that I have a polygonal viewport versus a regular viewport, too. However all items (location in and out of the viewport) are not printing.

It prints fine from 2005 to a plotter.

    Sorry about the double post.

We had trouble with polygonal viewports and PDF when the files were on the
large size. The plot file becomes enormous. I bet it'll work file if you
used a rectangular viewport in that layout.

You are right, it has to do with the polygon viewport. Does anyone know of a fix to this? Will this be in the next service pack?

  4. If you want email me over your drawing and we'll test it on our AcroPlot
software. I haven't had problems doing basic polygonal viewports plus our
software supports lines merge and text masks that Adobe doesn't.

I have found that if you print at half size (18x12), the drawing will print correctly. Then, from Adobe, it is possible to print the drawing "scaled to page" up to the 36x24 size. I've noticed that the scale is just slightly off, but since we don't use PDF for anything other than reference purposes, it doesn't matter that much. Apparently, Adobe does not like the larger page sizes (i.e. 36x24), but can handle the half size sheet just fine. Good luck to EVERYONE who is having this problem and not getting support from Autodesk and Adobe.

  6. You won't get it from Autodesk since they have the DWF format and from Adobe
the engineering market is maybe 10% of their worldwide market so I wouldn't
put my money there either. That is why there is at least 4 or 5 companies
like ours who specialize in high quality AutoCAD to PDF conversion to make
    your jobs easier.

If this is an Adobe problem, why did it work fine in ACAD2002?

  8. Could be because printing has changed somewhat in 2005 to allow printing of
shaded viewports. I'm not saying you're not going to get the Adobe stuff to
work in AutoCAD I'm just saying that there are companies out there who do a
far better job of it from AutoCAD. Take the Cadalyst Labs review that
tested ours again Adobe and with the Willhome.dwg sample drawing ours was 13
times smaller. Something like 124 KB versus 1.7 MB with Adobe's conversion.

Yes, I have tried pdf995, too. I had used it to plot autocad files with multiple images attachment, polygon viewport, etc. I have not stumble into any problem with this shareware yet.
