Pattern losing selection set

Discussion in 'SolidWorks' started by Wayne Tiffany, Feb 9, 2006.

  1. I thought I was going crazy, but I now have some evidence to suggest that
with SP3.0, we have a problem with pattern selection. I normally select my
parts, and if it's a linear pattern, I even select the direction edge. Then
I click on Insert/Component Pattern/Linear Pattern and the PM box opens.
Used to be that the selection set was already filled in, but with SP3.0, it
appears that it doesn't bring it in. I have tried it on a SP0.0 and SP2.0
machine, and it works fine on both of them. But not on three SP3.0
    machines. Anyone else seeing this?

We are used to place on one drawing a assembly and then add the model views
    for the different parts.
When we want to add a model view, we select Model View, then when the
program asks for the "Part/Assembly to Insert", we just clicked on a part in
the assembly and this part was selected.

This used to work in SW05 and SW04. We just switched to SW06 (with SP3.1)
and now this selection method doesn't work any more. We have to Browse to
the part now, what is a lot slower, mouse clicks etc.
So also here we have problems with making selections.

(Does anyone know if this works in SP2.1?)
