I have posted this before but still looking for a response. I am looking to
possibly draw a line and attach text or a type of dimension
in which if the line changes the text will change. Is this possible? It
could be very usefull especially for myself. Any ideas if this could even
be done. I dont even know where to start.

    Thanks in advance

This has been answered previously (don't know if you were that poster or
not): use an associative aligned dimension with the extension lines and
dimension lines suppressed. This will place definition points in the
DefPoints layer, that can be stretched along with the line in question; you
won't, however, be able to use grip editing and maintain associativity.

    Thanks Paul,

I actually was that poster, I was hoping for another method for doing this.
Or possibly combing the dimension with lisp?

    Thanks

Also, how would I lock the dimension to the line so they act as one entity?
