Pagesetup Manager and Plot loses "View" Option when deleting and creating named views

  1. Hi Everyone,

I am currently work with Building Systems 2005, SP 1, Windows XP, SP 2.
    Now...

I have a program I wrote that creates a view relative to our Border sizes
for plotting to our Laser printers and it is used to account for the
printable sizes. Recently I attempted to change the name of the created
view from the name of the current Layout to the name of the Border. My
program creates the new view and then deletes the old view. But when I do
this and then try to update my Page setups for the new view name I lose the
option for "View" in my "What to plot:" selection box under the "Paper size"
    field.

Is there any one else experiencing the same or a similar problem and knows
what I am doing wrong? Or is this a bug? Can anybody else create this
anomaly by creating a Page setup that plots to a view and then deleting that
view and creating the same view to another name and then seeing if that new
view is available to edit with Page setup manager? (get all that?)

I searched this group but did not find anything related to my problem. I
checked the Autodesk site and did not find anything there either.

However, I did alleviate this problem by first deleting the previous page
setups BEFORE creating new views for plotting. Then created new Page
Setups. But I should not have to do that. This causes over 20 users to
have a broken Page setup or redo what already has been setup. The reason I
am doing this is so that we can have the ability to import Page Setups from
a Standards File and all the settings will be there including the saved view
(which then needs to have the same name in each drawing). So that brings my
next option which is to delete the existing Page setups and then import them
    again.

Any help on this? Anyone? I guess if nothing else I have come across a
bug, which I am asking in order to confirm.

    Thanks.

  3. R.K. McSwain,

Thanks for your reply. We have LDT 2005 in our office too.

I have had to have our users plot by using the Window option and select the
same area that our view creates as a workaround.
