Following in the traditions of my other unwelcome OT comments here about the
US in world affairs from time to time I want to say in your face just before
Christmas (the time of goodwill among all men) how disgusted I am that the
representatives of your country walked out of climate change discussions
    today.
This and the UN criticism of secret prisons and also barring detainees
visits from the Red Cross is a disgraceful reflection on all people in the
US never mind the expensive destructive vengeful folly and abuses in Iraq...
I don't know why it is that the thinking of Americans has become so
perverted but you have all lost the plot and elected idiots twice...where
are the good Joe Americans? rational sensible sociable right-minded folks?
maybe there are none - maybe everyone has made money his God and everyone is
a yes man or woman? Why is the US such a lousy world citizen? What the hell
are you going to do about it???

Ok so now I feel better.
You can send me molten email in return.)
    regards neil

I agree that posts which have as their purpose only political commentary
don't belong here, but I also don't want to start insulting people.
Doesn't matter whether I agree or disagree with Neil's views.

Or that neocons can spell "truth"?

Why is the US such a lousy world citizen? What the hell
Why, I'm doing easily three times as much as you are! How much is
    that? Let's see...

    0 * 3 = ???

Maybe I should douoble my effort.

Why is the US such a lousy world citizen?
I gave up all hope when the whole country stopped what it was doing and played
the Who's Under Bill's Desk game. Is there such a thing as Societal Senility?
Just look at Kansas. Maybe exess prosperity always leads to perversion. People
    are so easy to manipulate.

you are displaying the obvious effects of narrow news sources.
when you accept as fact propaganda instruments like CBC, you are probably
    the ones
    who are electing idiots.

I have had enough of the US world thinking so I said my piece.
It needs to be said - I don't expect it to be popular.
I am not interested in being ploughed under by subtle forms of conformity.
Most of the world thinks and functions differently than the US.
The US needs to deal with their issues.

BTW the day was most likely saved by Bill Clinton who said the US position
    was "flat wrong" to applause...
and guys I simply don't care about the hostile reaction to my post because
there are more important things in the world than bugs and how tos but I
accept that this is a SW newsgroup and much to your relief no doubt I will
    move on to other things...
    Have a happy Xmas ;o)

Spain, France, and Great Britain all had their chance to f**k up the
world in the last two centuries. Now it's our turn.

Gee, I thought Palestine was a lousy world citizen for letting its
people cross into anlther country for the sole purpose of killing
innocent people. Ditto for Syria and Iran. I thought Sudan was a lousy
world citizen for killing millions of Christians and enslaving many
more? Guess slavery doesn't show up on the radar as bad citizenship.

And then there are China and Brazil. Both have CO plumes visible on
satellite imagery. One is burniing down the world's biggest rainforest
and the other is burning more coal without pollution devices than any
other country. They don't need discussions, they need action.

And then there is the US. 11 million illegal immigrants from Mexico.
Are they put in conncentration camps? NO. They are allowed to work and
live along with everybody else. They get medical care and social
security and education and access to churches. They are allowed to fly
their own flag and have their own holidays. And they come here because
they can get work that is not available in their own country. Is Mexico
considered a bad world citizen because it can't get it's economy going
    despite years of help?

The US has a major city destroyed. The people there are taken care of,
albeit a few days late. Compared with how India still hasn't helped
many of the tsunami victims the US did a glowing good job. And the US
government didn't disregard a whole group of people like India
diregarded the dalits plight. When New Orleans was destroyed the US
didn't need to ask the rest of the world for help (although some
    countries did send token help).

The US has cleaned up its air and water and land every bit as well as
Europe has tried to. This can't be said of Russia, Ukraine, China and
many other counrtries. In fact regulations are so strict in the US that
we haven't built a petroleum refinery or nuclear power plant for years.
And we burn a lot of home heating gas in power plants just to keep the
air clean even though it means extremely high home heating bills.

The US walked out of climate change discussions because they had good
    reason to.

The US imprisons people like this in Europe.

    http://encoderx.co.uk/id/id.php?fid=NB1 (don't watch before lunch)

Europeans only consider the prisoners rights and not those of the aid
    workers like Berg and others.

The US has fueled the astounding growth in both China and India at the
expense of their own people's jobs. Bet that wouldn't fly in Europe.
