Open multiples and write to 1 file using edg?

Discussion in 'Microstation' started by Jose Bonifacio, Aug 13, 2003.

  1. Good morning group.

I need to open several dgn files and get some elements from each file
then open a final.dgn and write all of these elements to the final
    file.

Based on edg commands, only 2 files can be opened at a time. Is this
    correct?

Also, is there an alternative to the open command - like open for
append instead of open (which will delete any existing file)?

    Thanks.

Easy look at the edg and open commands using help

you can enter EDG opening a file, set a search , then use the command OPEN
    to
    open a new.dgn
    write whole

    use the command EDG
    to open another.dgn
    set search

    and write whole

don't forget to CLOSE the new.dgn file

used EDDG like this to extract all elements on a certain level and copy them
into a new isogen piping iso drawing
