One layout out of 4 crashes dwg

Discussion in 'AutoCAD' started by Dave Alexander, May 7, 2004.

  1. I have a drawing with 4 layouts, each with a different area of the same roof
plan. We are using ADT 2004 and while the 3 layouts plot fine to a Kip
plotter, the one layout keeps crashing.

I have tried creating a new drawing using "create layout from template" and
selecting the one layout that doesn't plot and then xrefing the original dwg
for the mechanical and the roof plan.

The damn thing will still not plot but the drawing somehow is set to stb
even though the drawing I started with is ctb by default as well as the
original drawing that crashes on the one layout.

Any ideas would be really appreciated.

    Corrupted viewport. Delete and recreate.

  3. Bloody Hell!

I have never heard of that but I did manage to recreate the layout from
another in the same drawing and then just adjust the viewport to suit the
area of the roof plan that I needed.

    Corrupted viewport heh!! Go figure

    Thanks for the reply.

Other common symptoms of a corrupted VIEWPORT object is the inability to
Copy-Clip and Paste between drwaings and the inability to WBLOCK objects out
of the corrupted dwg. I don't recall if AUDIT will fix a corrupted VIEWPORT
    or not.
