    I would like to make a reducing cone 12 7/8" dia by 22 1/2" dia with a 1
1/2" offset, 4 1/4" tall . I can draw it with rulesurf but would like to do
it as a solid. any tips?

    Thanks
    Rob

Yes, get something besides AutoCAD. Otherwise, be happy with rulesurf.
Alternatively, send me an email and I will send you the cone in ACIS format.

I think, it is a facetted 3DSOLID- you can do all the Boolean
operations...But you are right it is no 3DSOLID, bounded by a "smooth"
    surface.
