  1. Hello,
I would need a tool to offset 3D Polylines in AutoCAD.
Does anyone know a sites to download tools for ACAD?

    Thanks, Michael

    Hi

It will be easy to collect the point information from the drawing
database, with a simple Lisp application this shuld be a piece of cake
, ------ then making the offset calculations on these in list form are
also easy ,then produce a new line offset the distance is easy with
    matric calculations , but.
a real offset function for a 3D line shuld make it smarter than just
offsetting the intire outlines sidewerts , an offset from a closed line
, must yield a new entity where there are realy the offset distance,
that proberly call for a few extra functions . ------ Well you asked
for a place to download this, ready made. so if you do not find the
tool, then you know how it can be made.
---------- It also are easy to write a 3D morphing tool that only work
on 3D poly lines ; you can point to one 3D line forming a plane and
then as second morphing object, point to a 3D boat hull drawing and
have as many "inbetweens" drawn acturly as new entities, so why not an
    offset tool for 3D lines.
I call that a design tool I just wonder why such never was offered with
    AutoCAD.

Terry Dotson's ToolPac suite includes a 3d polyline offset tool. Like
any good tool, it is worth paying for.

Have you seen our GeoTools productivity tools? There are over 200+
tools in this pack and one of them is a 3d polyline offset tool.

A fully functional evaluation can be downloaded at this site:

    www.4d-technologies.com/geotools

This is probably the only vendor where you can buy an entire
productivity tool pack or just a single routine that you need.

    Check out : www.4d-technologies.com/geotools/my_geotools.htm

Let me know if you have questions,
