Odd text replacement bug (?)

Discussion in 'SolidWorks' started by Robert Latest, Oct 11, 2005.

  1. Hello,

for some reasons, SW has stopped to properly replace the texts in <>
templates in measurements. Specifically, on all diameter measures it
actually prints <MOD-DIAM> instead of the proper diameter symbol. This
is both in sketches and in drawings, independent of the font I'm using.

This used to work properly on this machine. But since I share the
computer with other people, and piss-shit SW doesn't remember different
settings for different users, this may have to do with some setting
    someone fucked with.

Another thing: When I create one of those dimensions that start at zero
and incrementally go up (I don't know the English term, it's
"Ordinatenmaß" in German) in a part sketch, SW creates gigantic arrows
and lines (gigantic meaning: I tried to put such a dimension on a part
that is about 30mm in diameter, and I couldn't even see the
crammed-together arrows and numbers before I zoomed out about 6 times).
It works OK in a drawing though.

    Thanks for any help,

    robert

I've seen this "<MOD-DIAM> " problem happening once in a while on one (and
only one) of our (9-all identical) stations. Never found an explanation, but
    a reboot cures it (here).
Did not search much, but something must be different on this one...

    It did here, too.

    Thanks!
