OCTTREE2 error in AutoCAD 2004

    Have any of you ever encountered ACAD reporting an OCTTREE2 error and
    then shutting down?

    It happens when we load a DXF into AutoCAD 2004 (not in 2000 or 2002).
    As soon as you then even move the cursor over the drawing, it freezes
    up and reports the error. The problem seems to be related to the
    SPLINE element, but we can now also reproduce it with a DXF without
    that element, where embedded text seems to be causing it.

    If you can (and want to) help us find what exactly causes this problem
    and how we can change the DXF to solve it, I can also provide you with
    some small DXF examples to have a look at.
