Numeric Control Pad

OK, I have been shuttled to this site in the hopes of finding a solution to my problem(s).
    1. I am currently running ADT 3.3 where I have been successful in loading the Dockable Container, Numeric Control Pad. I was upgraded thru my subscription plan to ADT 2005 earlier this year but have been unable to load the Numeric Control Pad to my screen. I downloaded the app that was written by Jorge Lopez for 2005 and made available from Imaginit Technoligies. I carefully follow all the steps, execute the final command, breathlessly await the appearance of the Control, and then watch (more times than I can remember) as the message "Run Time Error '13' " and below that the message "Type Mismatch" appear. To add insult to injury when I click on the "OK" icon I get the "Fatal Error.....: message and the operation closes.
    2. What are the solutions and where can I find them? I am not adverse to buying a book that I, as a non-progammer, can understand or paying for one's services to provide the answer's. I just haven't found anyone with a suggestion except to go to this discussion group.
    3. My screen is very customized for my needs in ADT 3.3 but I never became a typist and consequently need that numeric pad badly so that I can use 2005.

  2. I've no idea what the numeric control pad is, but can probably
guess. The Dockable Container is just a host for ActiveX controls,
which is probably what the 'Numeric Control Pad' is. In that case,
it is almost certainly AutoCAD release-specific, and a version built
for the R15 (2002) version will not run on R16 (2004/2005).

I'm assuming that you don't have the source code for this tool, and
if that's the case, then you're SOL.

Why Autodesk distributes tools and then fails to update them is
entrely beyond me, but personally my opinion is that when they
do this, it leaves one with the impression that someone is asleep
    at the wheel.

  3. You are absolutely correct, Tony! The Numeric Control Pad is my baby and is
an activex control hosted by ACCONT. It provides the same functionality
[plus some] as the old tablet menu 3 area. The source code for the older
version was at one time available thru the CADalyst archives - but I
    believe it was removed.

Ray - send me an email since you're not displaying an email address [so I
don't forget]. The Numeric Pad is no longer free it is a shareware app. My
website is temporarily in limbo as I get on a new hosting site. Once its
up, the newest 2004/2005 version will be available. Right now we're
thinking only $10-15 per seat - not looking to get rich, just a little
    pocket change.

  4. Well, apologies to Autodesk in that case.

    Now wake up! :)

  5. Now wake up! :)
I did, really. I've published explanations in my column twice now.
Obviously I lost a read along the way =)

Along a diifferent vein, do you know how to tie into one of the new
collapsible containers without ObjectARX? Saw an example in ADN but I'm a
neophyte with C++ [and extremely dangerous!]

  6. Mike - ObjectARX only for Palettes.

I've been working on something called AcadXPalettes,
which is like the Dockable Container, except it uses
Palettes. I'm not sure when it will be ready.

Mike, I am more than happy to pay a fee for the use of your program. However, you should know that I downloaded the accont16.arx - dockable container/numeric pad from your site last week. I removed the app from my ADT 2005 and then downloaded again in the hopes of making it work. Didn't happen. My e-mail address is . Look forward to hearing from you.

    interested =)
