Null pointer / PC3s

Discussion in 'AutoCAD' started by Steven Wojtynek, Oct 22, 2004.

  1. We just added some new computers to the system with Windows XP on them. The
rest of the system has Windows 2000 Professional. We keep all of our
customization files and stock PC3s and CTBs on the server and point the
AutoCAD 2002 Search Paths to them. The new computers are giving error
messages about an "unexpected null pointer" when trying to plot using some
of the old PC3s that were created on 2000 Pro computers.

Does AutoCAD require a separate set of PC3s saved for XP computers?

Any suggestions about how to solve this without saving the PC3s locally on
    all the stations?

    In a word, YES.

You must create new pc3 files for different operating systems. I created
a folder for each different OS and set the search path for plotter
configurations in autocad based on this folder. This cured our null
    pointer issue.
