    David,
From the help files concerning FIELDEVAL system variable:

Controls how fields are updated. The value is set by a bitcode that is a sum of any of the following:

    0 Not updated
    1 Updated on open
    2 Updated on save
    4 Updated on plot
8 Updated on use of ETRANSMIT
    16 Updated on regeneration

If you have it set to 16 or above, fields will update with each regen.
    Is that helpful?

    Regards,
    Doug

    sort of.
Thats for the variable, I found the settings in the options dialog box.

I was adding an existing drawing to a existing sheet set.
The field would not update until I reopened the drawing. Regeneration would not update the field.
Upon reopening the drawing everything seemed to work properly.

Also a sheet index would not update on regeneration. The only way I could get it to update is to right click and say
update. I'm still looking into that one.
