Not enough detail when converting DWG to JPEG

After I change the DWG drawing to JPEG there is not enough information in the file to provide the detail I want.

How do i increase the data/resolution of the AutoCAD file before I convert it, so when it's in the smaller form in JPEG, it still has the same detail?

  2. Jon is correct the jpeg is one of the worst formats for AutoCAD drawings.
Great for low resolution pictures but it was really meant for showing images
over the internet. Depending on what you need it for but one option I would
suggest is going to PDF and then into Illustrator or something to create a
high resolution png or tiff. Or if you are sending it to have additional
touchup done to it or to use for Advertising most design programs read in
PDF really well and in Illustrator we actually save all of our artwork as
PDF format instead of AI format.

It really depends on what you need if for. But going from AutoCAD to any
high resolution graphics format is a stretch because of the amount of data
an image takes up. We were testing taking a customers high resolution PDF
to a group4 monochrome tiff (about as small as you can get for an image)
last week and the PDF was 3.2 MB and the resulting tiff at 400 dpi was 12.0
MB but it was print quality.

The other option is check out a graphics print driver. I think Lead Tools
has one that supports several formats and does a decent job. With the
built-in ones with AutoCAD you really need to double the printable size
because I think it maxes out at 100 dpi so to get 200 dpi you essentially
    double your paper size.

You need to set the resolution you desire.

If you want a resolution of 150 dots per inch, then you need to work out
the JPG size in total horizontal and vertical dots based on the size of
the finished image. Then if a resolution is not available, you will have
    to create a custom resolution.
