Non-rectangular view port in 2006

Discussion in 'AutoCAD' started by shankar.venkateswaran, Apr 15, 2006.

  1. Hi:

I am currently working on AutoCAD LT 2006. Can anybody help me how to
do non-rectangular viewports in layout. I wanted to create a new
non-rectangular layout. I tired mview & vpclip. It doesn't seem to work
for me. Please help me with a sequence.

    Thanks!
    Shankar.

    Hi,
I don't know if LT does have this possibility but you have it already
    with Autocad 2005.
You have to go to "Paperspace", then click on
"View", then "Viewport", then "Polygonal view" (or "Object")
-with "Polygonal view", you have to draw with line the viewport that you
    want.
-with "Object", you have to click on a closed object that can be used as
a viewport. By this manner, you can get a circle viewport.

What about the 'Object' option in Mview?

The add-on product below will give you round and polygonal viewports in
    AutoCAD LT.

  5. Thanks! I will have to try this tomorrow in my office.

I could see some non rectangular view port in Autocad template itself.
Is it that there is no way we can create a non-rectangular view port
with the existing AutoCAD LT 2006 I have?

It is true that LT cannot *create* non-rectangular viewports.
