It's time for a new workstation. I've been running XP 32 bit w/ the
3GB switch but would like to move to 64 bit with the next system and
start fresh w/ SW2008. Does anyone know when vista 64 bit will be
supported or am I better off running with XP 64 bit? I've been liking
AMD the past few years but it looks like Intel is faster now.
Probably a dual or quad core Xeon w/ 8GB ram. Does hard drive
configuration matter much? I'm working locally but my computer may be
used for extra storage / backups from other computers. Any
recommendations or opinions would be appreciated.

    Asus workstation-class mainboard
    nVidia Quadro FX1500
    Intel Core-2 Duo E6750
4GB DDR2 RAM to match mainboard selected
    2 x 10,000RPM SATA-II or 2 x 15,000RPM SCSI/SAS drives
(unless using boot drive + 2 RAIDed drives)

As it was told to me, best bang for the buck on the planet!
