When we create the Deployment image of AutoCAD 2004, we need to set the
"Network Log" by Network Installation wizard. Could we set the path to
"local path"? We must avoid "network path" because of administrative issues
on our client's network. The sharing c$ or d$ are also not allowed.

    Thanks

  2. Hi Ken,

Why not put the log file under your Admin Image? You don't want to toss
away your deployments since you need them for patching. The idea behind the
log file is to let the CAD Manager go see who has installed and how it went.
The log is just a one liner with some basic information about the install.
It would not be of much use on the local system. You could create a local
share and point every one at that.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Bud

Thanks for your suggestion and I agree with you.

However, there is some difficulty to share the admin image folder in a
read/write rights at our client's location. Our client is in one of the
university in HK. Their IT dept. is responsibile for the deployment
preparation and setup a link on their intranet. The user setup the AutoCAD
by click on the link. So, the user will have the "read" rights only at the
admin image. They have no "write" rights to the folder and errors always
occurs during the installation. I have contacted their IT dept. suggested
them to share a public folder for the log, however, they have some internal
policy that they cannot share such public folder to dept.

I will try ask the user to share a local folder.

    Thanks
