Nested xrefs not plotting

I have an equipment plan (with numerous types of xrefed equipment)
xrefed into a dwg. The nested attached xrefs from the equipment plan
xref do not plot. I have tried all the usual suspects: ie. layers and
attachment. I can plot the equipment if I detach the equipment plan and
attach the individual equipment dwgs, but detaching the equipment plan
with 50 nested xrefs and attaching 50 equipment dwgs individually in
100's of dwgs is very inefficient.
Someone have an idea of why the nested xrefs do not plot?

Sometimes you can have visibility problems with nested xrefs. Are "all" the
layers on and thawed? Are you plotting from layout tab or model tab? If
from layout tab, are all the layers thawed in the viewports?

I am plotting from model space. All the layers are on and thawed in xrefs and
in the dwg. The entities are visible in the dwg but not in the plot. All
layers are set to plot.

 

You are not attaching the nested xrefs on "deffpoints" layer are you by any
chance on the host drawing that the individule equipment dwgs are attached
to?

The next thing to check is the ctb or stb to make sure that the lineweight
is plotable.

The lineweights are plottable. The equipment xrefs will plot if they are not
nested.

 

At this point Bob, the only thing I can think of is for you to post the
drawing on the Customer-files group so we can download and have a look. Or,
you could use e-transmit and e-mail to me directly if you like and I could
have a look.

I wrote a simple VBA routine to attach the 50+ xrefs. Still don't know why the
old equipment plan with the nested xrefs did not plot but the new plan does.

I think that it has to have something to do with the old equipment plan but
don't know what it could be.
