Need advice from "HELP file" experts..... (as in .chm)

Please, I need advice from "Help" file experts (as in .chm's)

Everytime I launch "help", another app tries to re-install itself!

I recently installed "Carlson Survey 2004" which has an Autocad engine,
and both Acad 2005 and Carlson Survey 2004 work fine side by side or
    separately.

But when I am in Acad 2005 and run "help", Carlson tries to reinstall.
I checked my help support path in 2005 and it is pointing to "acad161.chm
    ".

If I go to this file and click on it without acad running, I still get this
    problem.

Somehow, this file triggers the Carlson install program.

I tried copying the acad161.chm from the 2005 install disk, but no fix.

I initiate "help" either by the menu, F1, "help" or ".help".

Any suggestions on how to break this link?

This sounds like the same MSI bug that a lot of others have posted about.
It's the MS installer that is causing it. I got it with other software
(ESRI) others reported it was MS Office or an other MS app. Try to follow
thru on the install when it comes up and it should just require you to pop
in the CD and wait a few seconds then exit OK.

Thanks, Murph. If I do that, you think it may not bother me again after
    that?

In acad2005, when I pick "help", it says that the Carlson Software
    installer
has detected "acad.exe" and must be shut down before it can complete the
install. Then i went to my file manager and clicked on "acad161.chm" and
tried to let it go thru its motions. It said it was gathering the
information it need to install. It does this 3 times and then goes away and
    the "help"
menu that I'm looking for finally appears, but I have to go thru this every
time I want to use "help".

Carlson found the answer for me. I had to delete a registry key
    under:
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Features and that fixed it.Thanks,
