Yes you are right. I apologize for being narrow minded. As you reply,
if anyone can come up with a decent acronym for this that would be
    great

Yay from here the backend for nowhere Lil' old New Zealand, even though I
mainly use MaxwellRender, it would be useful to get up to speed with
    PhotoWorks for quick renders.

A PhotoWorks Wiki would also be of some use.

What is your vision for what it would look like and how it would
    operate?
if it is virtual, how would it be different than the PWx group on the
    subscription site?
No slam - I'm just curious about your vision - I would be happy to
contribute, but I would like to know what kind of thing you are
    thinking of.
If its folks asking questions and others responding, we have that in
several spots already (comp.cad.solidworks and the SWx discussion
board) and we would all get spread even thinner with yet another
website to monitor every morning when we get into work (that's my
    habit).
Or it could be like the Cosmos groups, where they meet in person and
have dynamic meetings where they trade tips in the same room, but that
carries with it the burden of getting people toghether.
Perhaps I'm too small minded, relying on existing infrs-structures -
    what is your proposal?

I was thinking of starting a online live usergroup once a month for
those that find it hard to get to their local usergroup meetings or do
not have a local usergroup. Everyone that has speakers on their puter
can log into a meeting and listen and those that have a mic can add to
the meeting. This in a webcast format with powerpoint type
presentations. Maybe the photoworks usergroup would be a better
candidate for this concept... what do you think?

    Count me in.

Perhaps we could also 'allow' Maxwell info to be part of the discussion.

  13. I'm not one to usually pass on something SolidWorks, but I probably will on
this one since I don't do PhotoWorks. I also don't have free time right now
to play. But, I do like what you are proposing.
