I'm not sure of the purpose of the pdf and am not very musical; but
why not download and install a text font?

I have about 20 music fonts. in order to use them in AutoCAD I have to input
one character at a time scale it and convert it to a block to set the
insertion point. In order to someone else to use the files they need to have
the particular music font and a recent version of AutoCAD. I convert the
AutoCAC files to PDF so that the people who would use the scores can read
and print them, PDF is the generic format that is used for sheet music. It
also facilitates having them printed if I so desire. Besides fonts do not
behave too well when scaling and zooming.
