Moving swx license ?

Discussion in 'SolidWorks' started by bill allemann, Aug 25, 2008.

  1. A standalone installation of swx2008 needs to be moved temporarily to
another pc (pc2), and then back again in the near future.

Does swx need to be physically uninstalled on pc1 before loading on pc2, or
can it be left there as long as pc1 and pc2 aren't used at the same time?

    Thanks,
    Bill

  2. You need to send the license back to the SW server - this will immediately
disable that installation. Then you can install on the second machine and
activate from that one. You do not need to uninstall on the first one.

the correct method is to transfer the license. find this under the
help pulldown in SWx. activate it on the other computer and when you
bring back the original computer, transfer and activate it again. iQ
