    Phillips Plastics is a custom injection molder of both plastic and

    Key Responsibilities of the Position

    • Utilize solid modeling software for all CAD/CAM operations
    • Design injection molds and secondary tooling in a concurrent
    design/manufacturing environment
    • Evaluate parts for manufacturability and make suggestions for
    improvement
    • Engineer molds taking into account mold manufacturability
    requirements, mold performance requirements, and maintenance over the
    life of the mold
    • Provide guidance and recommendations in mold design to other team
    members
    • Assist in the development of improved mold standards, design
    systems, and manufacturing processes
    • Prepare CAD files for mold design and NC programming
    • Coordinate jobs with engineers, CAD/CAM programmers, mold
    manufacturers, and customers
    • Assist in CAD/CAM programming
    • Assist in file conversion
    • Archive CAD/CAM data and related documentation
    • Provide technical support for mold manufacturing processes

    REQUIREMENTS
    Education / Experience

    • Two-year degree in machine tool/mold making or related field; or
    equivalent mix of education and experience
    • Minimum of eight (8) years experience using CAD/CAM software in a
    concurrent design and manufacturing environment
    • Minimum of eight (8) years experience designing molds for a
    plastics injection molding company

    • Ability to gain commitment

    • PC – MicroSoft Windows software, solid modeling software,and
    other office equipment
    • Strong computer knowledge
    • Strong knowledge of mold manufacturing
    • Creativity and ability to conceptualize
    • Ability to design for manufacturability
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills to facilitate the
    sharing of information
    • Strong interpersonal skills
