I set up central menus on our network for company specific custom tools. In the past, an end user could change the tools around on their machine without effecting the central .mns file. Now, in 2005, if one person changes a button around, everybody's changes! I've set permissions on the .mns to solve this issue. Now, nobody can customize any of their custom tools without losing everything when they exit AutoCAD! What gives?

  2. AutoCAD 2005 already has a blank Custom.mn* installed to the user's profile
support folder for just such a purpose too.

In the past, you must have had menus loaded locally.

The solution is write protect the base menu, then provide a user menu
    locally for personal customization.

Most of our users have custom personal menus they've been adding to for
    several years.
