MMSIM72 v/s 71, Please help

Hello,

We have the license for spectre 7.1 as below

FEATURE Virtuoso_Spectre cdslmd 7.1 30-nov-2010 300 \
FEATURE Virtuoso_Spectre_GXL_MMSIM_Lk cdslmd 7.1 30-nov-2010 1800 \
FEATURE Virtuoso_Spectre_RF cdslmd 7.1 30-nov-2010 300 \

But the CAD guy has installed MMSIM72.

I am not able to run spectre. It says ' Waiting for available license
for Virtuoso(R) Spectre' . Is this error due to the difference in
licensed and installed version of spectre/MMSIM?

Will this issue get solved if i get installed MMSIM71?

Please comment.

Dear Vedanth,

I think the license is not the problem. In my setup we also have
license for MMSIM product version 7.1 . But I can run MMSIM 7.2
package without any error. It is the feature number (32500 and 32520)
that matters which is same in both MMSIM 71 and MMSIM 72. Please check
your bashrc or cshrc file and look at the environment variable
LM_LICENSE_FILE. Its should be set at 5280@LIC_SERVER_HOST. If port is
wrongly specified it will wait for liucense. Also check that license
server is running at the correct port.

I think this will solve your problem.
