Is there a program that will search a list of drawings to see if there
    are
any missing xrefs? Opening every drawing to check for missing xrefs
is time consuming. If there is an easier way to do this please provide
input. I use Autodesk Map 3D aka AutoCad 2005.

Yes, I also use Autodesk Map 3D aka AutoCad 2005. On the menus on the
top of the screen, go to "Insert." You have "Xref Manager," where you
can see and control all the xrefs. Sometimes the systems administrator
for your organization will change the drive names or server names and
then AutoCAD can't find them. In that case, use Xref Manage to
"repath" the xrefs and don't forget to "Save" in the xref manager list
(at the botttom of the list). That's all there is to it. Talk to a
supervisor if the systems administrator is renaming drives because
that is costing your company money in repathing everything on each and
    every computer. Good Luck, Richard
