Missing CTB file

I have a drawing from a client that he sent with the corresponding .ctb
file, but when I copy the .ctb file to my plot styles directory it doesn't
appear in the styles list. In fact, the only thing that appears in the
list is the .ctb file name (missing); it doesn't even list our offices plot
    styles! Can't figure it out...

    Thanks

Thanks for the reply Jenna. I should have mentioned that all of the plot
styles show up fine in our drawings, new or existing, but just don't show up
    in this particular clients drawings.

Maybe it's remembering it's previous page setup and having trouble from
    that?
Have you tried just opening Page Setup and switching to a plotter you have
and checking the other settings to see if your ctbs appear?
Or is there some kind of project support path saved with the drawing that is
    overriding your office support paths.
I'm kind of grasping at straws now, because I'm not sure I've run into this
    before...sorry :)

What DOES show up> Other .ctb's or do it list only .stb's. The the latter is
the case, then the drawing is set to use named plot styles.

Is the default plot style .stb? If so try "convertpstyles"

I found this to be an interesting thread.
    We have encountered this also.
The problem is with a seat in the office that is using 2004.
I have not been that involved with it, but I think the person is having this
    trouble with all her dwgs.
A cad person has suggested that 2004 may not support ctb files anymore.
I found that hard to believe.
All other seats in the office are 2000.
