I am on Acad 2004, XP Pro. When I mirror text or mtext horizontally, it rotates the text 180 degrees. I have tried exploding the mtext first, but get the same results.

Check variable MIRRTEXT. Re-set to zero.

I checked the mirrtext first and it was set to zero. The problem is not with the text being mirrored incorrectly, its being ROTATED 180 degrees. (upside down). Thanks in advance for any help.

  4. I've seen this, too, but don't have a solution other than to manually
reset the properties. If I recall correctly this usually happens here
on hotel projects where the architect has inserted blocks for the rooms
    that are rotated and/or mirrored.

Is the MTEXT inside a block?

rotates the text 180 degrees. I have tried exploding the mtext first, but
    get the same results.

Is the style upside down or backwards?

You can use Filter to select all the text that is upside down and then
change the angle to 0 in the properties window.
You should note that the text rotation angle in Filter command is in radians
so you should do it by object selection and then delete everything except
for text object and text rotation. Or you can use quick select in properties
window and select Mtext and rotation 180 and then change to 0 degrees.

I hope that makes sense !

Was the drawing created in the southern hemisphere, by chance?

  12. Exactly which text is wrong? I tried mirroring the entire drawing using
a vertical mirror line to the right of the border and all the mirrored
text was exactly as I expected. Also, you used a font that doesn't come
with AutoCad and that you didn't include. There are some non-standard
characters in your font file that don't display when a standard font is
    substituted.

AH, HAH. If you set your precision to max decimal places for angle you'll
find that they are not perfectly at 90 degrees. Set it to exactly 90 and try
    mirror again.
