microstation V5 and video card

  1. I am trying to run Microstation Ver 5
on an XP system with an NVIDA Gforce 4 card
also trying the PNY NVIDA Quadro4 550 XGL
I can not get it to go into the High
Resolution mode with either, best it will do is the
IBM EGA mode. It seems the video card
will not support the VESA BIOS extensions
required to run at 1024 by 768
it does run fine on XP with a different
video card ( the one that came in the Sony
an Asus R2 or something like that)
but would very much like to use the 550 XGL
to run that other unmentionable CAD program
    from Autodesk

I know V5 is old but I like it and I am fast with it
and have a tremendous archive of past designs
    I utilize daily.

Does any one have a suggestion other than upgrade?

    Thanks

  2. thanks i forgot all about that
not a bad idea i think i will try that.
On the slower machines at the time it was
a dog but now with the faster units
    it may work fine
