Menu hotkeys

Discussion in 'SolidWorks' started by Wayne Tiffany, Dec 3, 2004.

  1. I think we discussed this at one time, but I couldn't find it.

    The menu names do not have the underlined first letter to allow the use of
    the ALT key the way normal Windows applications do it. To use that
    functionality, you have to hit the ALT key, release it, then hit F for the
    file menu.

    I went back to SW2003 and it's the same way there & with 2004. Has it
    always been this way? Or is there a setting that I've missed?

  3. I think that's a WindowsXP setting under Control Panel->Display
    Properties->Appearance->Effects->"Hide underlined letters for Keyboard
    navigation until I press the Alt key"

  4. Interesting. I figured out my original question. The issue was that only
    the ALT-f was not working and that was because there was a macro assigned to
    that key sequence.

    But, you say that you can see the underlines all the time? Or just when you
    press & release the ALT key?

  6. Yup, that did it. So I did remember reading that somewhere, but I still
    don't know where. Oh, well, problem solved - wish they were all this
    easy...
