  2. I just tried it here on SW2005 SP2.0 and it worked fine. Do you get any
    action at all? Has it always been this way? Just started with the SP
    update?

    Just started with the service pack...
    I get the pretty colored lines denoting the normal distance and x,y
    distances sometimes z but no angle. Guess this is a problem for SW... bwaaa
    haahaha they are soo busy with 2006 they will never get to this one. I did
    once submit problems back in 2001+-2003, I figgure 50 or so, never had a
    responce to them? My dont get me wrong my VAR is exelent at helping, but SW
    is another case altogether.

    Ben, you must be doing something wrong.

    Assuming you are selecting two things that can have an angular relationship
    (two lines, two planer faces, etc.) the angle will show up in the measure
    tool box not on the screen.

    That is just it I have the measure tool box and on the right side of the box
    is a arrow to expand or compress the box, I hit the arrow it flips down but
    no expansion! I hit it again and it points up and nouthing happens other
    than the symbol on the button has changed to arrows up! I have made a
    assembly of a part that is patterned around a axis and have made a part in
    the same manner to test (two seperate and not related files), so if I select
    the same face of each part patterned around the axis there should be an
    angle. Again no angle.

  6. So, the issue is that you can't get the dialog box to drop open? Oh, why
    didn't you say so!!

    Anyway, I don't have an answer...

    But, I have found some registry settings on my machine that might yield a
    clue. Here are my values - see how yours compare.

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SolidWorks\SolidWorks 2005\User Interface\Dialogs
    uiMeasureDlg_c = 0,1,-1,-1,-1,-1,0,0,202,176

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SolidWorks\SolidWorks 2005\User Interface\Dialogs
    uiMeasurementOptionDlg_c = 0,1,-1,-1,-1,-1,364,40,619,473

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SolidWorks\SolidWorks 2005\User Interface\Dialogs
    uiMeasureOptionSelectorDlg_c = 0,1,-1,-1,-1,-1,0,38,234,380

    My numbers are below your numbers for the reg files, I have changed them to
    your values and still the same. Thanks for the suggestion though

    Thanks for the advice, I have tried all that and no go...
    Looking like I might have to re-install SW

  9. You might first try renaming/deleting the local user key for SW. If that
    works, you wouldn't have to reinstall.

  11. In the registry, SW stores information in two major areas - Local_Machine &
    Current_User. When you install it, both areas get written to. When another
    user logs in, another CU key is created for that user and these CU keys are
    what hold the settings, etc. So, if something gets really messed up, you
    can delete or rename that CU key so that SW has to rebuild it based on the
    (hopefully) unchanged LM key. If you are not comfortable editing the
    registry, get some help - if you mess with the wrong stuff, you can end up
    with a door stop. (Ok, maybe not quite that bad.) :)

    For those that care, I used the copy options wizard on another machine and
    imported the sytem settings (this alone nouthing else) into my machine. IT
    WORKED! so I still have all my toolbars and keyboard shortcuts etc etc and
    now can measure angles

    Ben
    Thanks to all who helped

    I face same problem after i upgrade to sp2. after playing it for while,
    i have solvethis problem. Actually, the measure tool box was there, but
    in "minimize" condition. After the arrow flip down, point your mouse to
    bottom left cover of the measure tool box, click on left button, hold
    it and drag to right/bottom to "expend " the tool box.
