Matching Viewports

Discussion in 'AutoCAD' started by Martin Schmid, Aug 18, 2004.

  1. I have a bunch of sheet files for floor plans... one layout per file, and one viewport per layout.

Is there a way to read the viewport information, i.e., the location and size in paper space, as well as the viewport 'window' points in the model, and the scale, and apply that to a series of other view ports in my other drawings...

What I want is an automated way to make sure that all the floor plans are located on the paper in the same location.

    Thanks,
    MS

  2. For the viewport, you can grab it no problem. Either traverse the ViewPorts
collection or activate the appropriate layout and then grab the viewport.
For the model space portion, start using model space views. They're easy to
synch with the paper space viewports especially since you are looking to
    automate.

  4. You need to save the UCS with the view
