Making autocad faster

Discussion in 'AutoCAD' started by Jurgen Buwalda, Nov 1, 2004.

  1. I did a format c: on my computer and installed autocad again.
But now autocad is much slower than before.
It's slower in regenerating and opening autocad files.
What can I do to make autocad faster?

I'm using windows XP and autocad LT 2000
    Service pack 1

  3. This is not the problem.
Is there a way to change the memory or something that autocad is using?

If you're observing more hard-drive activity than you were used to, check the
PATH statement in Autoexec (yes, it's still in there somewhere) & make sure it
contains both the ACAD & TEMP folders. Also set your default "save" &/or
"start up" directories to a folder as close to, but higher in hierarchy than,
the area where your drawing files are kept.

Not much, but 2 cents worth.
