macro: create an animation from a lott of configurations.

Discussion in 'SolidWorks' started by Johnny Geling, Aug 20, 2004.

  1. Hallo

I have a part with at least 67 configuration. I want to see them in a
sequence. Is there someone have a macro that makes a animation of
stepping though these configurations? Or a macro that steps though the
configurations and show them on screen?

    Kind regards.

  2. Yes, I have one I wrote to do just that. It will step through all the
configs, each one centered & maximized on an iso view. A message box tells
you the name and gives you the opportunity to quit any time. Send me an
    email if you want it.

  4. You can also use/combine the macro on http://www.dynabits.com/sw/anim.htm
which saves an image for each config/frame and calls a free tool from
http://www.imagemagick.org/ to build an MPG movie.
(I'm looking for a similar tool for AVI, if you cross one...)

  5. You can use VDub to encode your mpg to avi.

I would write a little macro to change configuration and then export a
jpeg of each component. Then I would use JASC PhotoShop Animator to
combine them into an animation from which I can get .gif, or .avi type
files. You could also use PowerPoint to rotate through the
    configurations.

Joe at New Hampshire CAD presented this method to us long ago.
