We use Windows 2000 Pro and we rec'd a windows update today and followed the directions listed in: http://www.microsoft.com/security/bulletins/200409_jpeg.mspx

Now when we open client dwg files that contain macros, or try to insert a client file that contains macros, or type VBAMAN we crash out of Acad with the message:

FATAL ERROR: Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0x0004 Exception at 30b1f00ch

We have tried recovering dwgs, dxfout and back in and can't open these dwgs. If we open dwgs from the same client that we rec'd months ago that worked ok then, we crash now.
Other machines don't have this problem, only the one we updated. We have uninstalled and reinstalled Acad and Sp1
    and it still crashes.

  2. Well then common sense dictates unnstall the update -if you can. If you
can't, reformat and re-install the OS. Look on the bright side - least its
only one computer. iIn the future, never install any updates for any
software until at least a month after the fact. By then you'll be able to
look in the ngs and see if there are any side effects.

    Ow... nice tone

For us, common sense these days usually means keeping Windows up to date to keep the viruses out.... that being said we only updated 1 of 7 computers and I'm waiting to see if this is just my 1 computer or if anyone else has this issue

Sorry - I had flashbacks to my old tech support days. You do have to admit
it is a rather self answering question whenever you step back and look at
    it.
That's what anti-virus is for. Your OS is your system which everything else
runs on top of so always hold back as you did here and test every
patch/update carefully for your major applications. Too many people fall
    into the 'pied piper' syndrome.
