m2p(a2k5 osnap modifier) reactor?

As a workaround to the problem (IMHO) I posted in the a2k5 group ("m2p vs.
polar & ortho"), I thought I was going to make a reactor to turn off polar
if m2p was running. I guess I thought wrong since m2p doesn't fire the
    'command-started' reactor.

I know this lisp function has been around forever in various forms, and we
use it here probably to a fault. But I was really hoping to be able to
trust the built in one so that I could use it in response to lisp prompts.

So to the point... does anyone know of a reliable workaround? Perhaps an
ACAD setting I have missed for m2p, or a lisp that I can use to respond to
any other lisp? Or does m2p fire a reactor that could be used to get around
the problem (though honestly, I consider this a last resort)?

I have no idea what m2p is, but you could try the (vlax-add-cmd) function to
create a command that will fire the reactor.

m2p is the new (a2k5) built in 'midpoint between any two points' osnap
modifier. It returns just such a point UNLESS polar is on and the mid is
too close to one of your polar angles (affected by aperture; see previous
    post).
