Have installed new acad 2005 lt. In the past 2 months i have experience the program losing its licence and then coing up with an error 1.1.98.

It then asks me to remove the program and reinstall it again.

This has happened twice in the last 2 months.

    2 questions:

    1) why is this happening
    2) how can i stop it from happening again, since it is using up a lot of time reinstalling the program.

    Thank you in advance.

    Solution

AutoCAD® 2005 and AutoCAD 2005-based products rely on a licensing service to function properly. This licensing service is disabled as part of Diagnostic mode. In order to run the product successfully, you must enable the Autodesk Licensing Service after choosing Diagnostic Startup. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. On the Start menu, click Run.

    2. Enter msconfig, and click OK.

    3. In the System Configuration Utility, General tab, select Diagnostic Startup.

    4. On the Services tab, select Autodesk Licensing Service.

    5. Click Apply, and then click Close.

    6. When prompted, restart the computer.

When the machine restarts you should be able to run the product

Note: The Autodesk Licensing Service is enabled to start when the computer boots into Normal Startup mode. Do not manually adjust this setting when running the product in Normal Startup mode.
