    Acad 2002 on win-xp-home sp2

Can anyone explain or suggest what I can do about the following?

I start a new drawing with acad.dwt (w/ nothing in it)
    I draw a short line
I do a save as r14 format - it takes a second to complete save.

    I copy/paste 2 lines from another drawing
I do a save as r14 format - it takes about 30 seconds to complete save.

If I save the same drawing as a 2002 format it takes a second to complete
    save.

    Thanks,
    KenD.

Probably because of the lineweight differences after R14. But......why not
    save as 2000?

The current 2 architects I am working for use R14 (not my choice)

Is there a fix or work around?

    Thanks

There is the Batch Drawing Converter which is used to save down to R14.
But it works from your desktop and is an extra step. However......it may
save problems is so far as saving several dwgs and then converting all
    of them at one time.

  5. Post your original 2002 dwg with only the
two lines that you copy/paste I will take a look.
