    Hello,

I'm trying to include the asterisk character in the text of a dimension
    - it's a convention we use to reference additional notes regarding the
    dimension.

Since the asterisk is used to signify the automatic dimension text, I
can't seem to get an asterisk to show up in the text - it just inserts
    the automatic text.

I've tried using the escaping mechanism: \42. That expands to an
asterisk and that, in turn, expands to the automatic text (!). Is
there any way to avoid the final expansion?

    TIA,

I should have indicated that I'm using Microstation/J.

There is a tip on askinga.com (and other places) that shows you can use
%%42 in V8, but can't find anything for my version.
