Lisp routine help needed: change layer properties on opening

    I am trying to learn how to create a lisp routine that would automatically change certain pre-defined layers on a clients drawing over to my layer colors & linetypes when I open the drawing. How would I go about this? Has anyone already done this? Any help is appreciated.
