Lisp find a replace?

    Does anyone know if there is a way to use the standard Find and Replace
    command in AutoCAD through LISP?

    I need to find a group of 6 characters and change 1 of them. They are
    typically buried within strings of text. The Find and replace tool is
    perfect but I need to automate the process for a lot of drawings.
