    Hello,

I work for a home builder and were having a problem with our standard home plans. We put our basement, first floor, and second floor plans side by side in model space. The problem is this, some of the drafters here will make changes to the basement walls and forget to go and do the same for the floors above. Is there anyway to link the walls of all the floors so if one is stretched the other plans are stretched as well? Thanks for any help you can give.

  2. Please tell us which release? of which Autodesk product? you are using?

    Assuming AutoCAD 2000+...

You could use layers and by the basement, first floor, second floor on
separate layers and top of one another...
and then open a layout for each floor and freeze the other two per that
    viewport.

Tracey has it, generally this type of activity uses a drawing structure that is "stacked" with appropriate layer names and layer manager use to view what you wish at the right time.

Thus you can check basement against first and second floor easily and accordingly change 1st, 2nd, etc floor lines that are the same but different layers in one move. placing plans next to one another very very dated and eliminates the efficiency of CAD
